“Manufacturing turns raw materials into functional art. You literally make something from nothing. A true metaphor for life—take what you're given and shape it to power the future.” – Titan Gilroy
Titan and his team are renowned in the industry for pushing limits and making monster chips fly using our next-level metal cutting solutions. This being their first annual in-person open house event, more than 500 attendees got up close with Titan, his team and Kennametal’s technical experts. We distributed more than 500 of our innovative KCP25C inserts, Dodeka cutter bodies, talked shop and helped attendees choose the best Kennametal exclusive tooling for their upcoming projects.
Watch as Barry, one of Titan’s leading machinists, showcases the roughing capabilities of our massive KOR 5 roughing end mill.
Outside of the impressive Titans of CNC facility, visitors toured our state-of-the-art, custom Metal Cutting Tour truck equipped with nine interactive tooling displays featuring everything from our newest innovations to tooling specific to end markets including transportation, specifically electric vehicles, aerospace and defense, medical and general engineering.
Also displayed in the truck was our award winning KENionic™ technology, which features advanced designs with principles that mimic the most effective and efficient organic shape adaptations from nature. Recognized with a prestigious R&D 100 Award in 2023, this innovative technology was engineered to machine precision components for transportation applications.
Additionally, attendees got a deep dive into Kennametal’s composites machining tooling capabilities—with solutions that are designed to mitigate composite materials’ highly abrasive properties and relatively low melting point.
If you missed a local stop on the Metal Cutting Tour or the first official open house at Titans of CNC, don’t worry —we’re not done touring the country! Here are a just a couple of our upcoming, confirmed stops on the next leg of the tour with more coming soon:
- June 13 – Allegheny Machine Tool in McMurray, Pennsylvania
- June 20 – Kennametal in Solon, Ohio
- July 8 – Leech Industries in Meadville, Pennsylvania
