On October 4, 2024, Kennametal proudly joins the celebration of MFG Day in the U.S. that showcases the exciting future of modern manufacturing careers. Spearheaded by the Manufacturing Institute—the workforce development and education arm of the National Association of Manufacturers—MFG Day invites companies and educational institutions across the country to open their doors to students, parents, educators and community leaders.
At Kennametal, we recognize the vital importance of empowering the next generation of skilled workers and highlighting the rewarding opportunities within the manufacturing sector. This year, several of our U.S. plants will welcome students from local technical schools to get a firsthand look at what a career in manufacturing could look like with Kennametal. These visits will include immersive plant tours and engaging panel discussions, offering students a chance to learn from professionals and explore how they can build a successful future in the industry.
Here's a quick round up of MFG events at Kennametal facilities in the U.S.
- Orwell, Ohio: Hosting students from local technical school as well as on-site food trucks for all employees.
- New Market, Virginia: Participating in the World of Works event in Virginia, a hands-on career expo for middle school students.
- Solon, Ohio: Hosting 70 students from two technical schools.
- Bedford, Pennsylvania: The Kennametal team will attend a local event with students from across Bedford County.
- Gurley, Alabama: Hosting a MFG Day lunch for all employees.
- Goshen, Indiana: Hosting a Family Day at the Farm.

At Kennametal, we are passionate about inspiring the next generation of talent, and MFG Day provides a perfect platform to do just that. By opening our doors to students and engaging with the community, we hope to spark excitement about the future of manufacturing and help build a skilled workforce that will lead our industry forward.
