Kennametal Expands Application Range of Stellram 7792VX Portfolio with New Straight-Edge Inserts
PITTSBURGH, MAY 16, 2024 — Kennametal Inc. (NYSE: KMT) has expanded on the application range of its high performance Stellram 7792VX portfolio with new indexable milling inserts. The new design of 7792VX inserts achieves a wider range of applications including face milling, pocket milling, helical milling, plunge milling, pocketing, ramping and counterboring and better tool life in steels, stainless steels and high-temp alloys.
"The Stellram 7792VX portfolio is recognized by our customers for high-performance cuts. Expanding the lineup to meet a broader range of needs for aerospace, die and mold and general engineering shops, the new 7792VX straight edge inserts respond to machining concerns we’ve heard about chip control and consistency in the shop," said Scott Etling, Vice President of Global Product Management.
The inserts feature a new, straight edge design that better maintains chip thickness and improves performance in lighter depth-of-cut applications than curved designs. All new 7792VX inserts fit existing pockets:
- IC 06, 09, 12, 16inserts with straight cutting edge for consistent chip thickness for all depth-of-cut applications
- Flat Top Geometry (-M) with the strongest cutting edge for longer tool life
- Positive Rake Face (-M41) with chip control for better chip clearance
