Over 80 Years of Tungsten Carbide Manufacturing & Processing Innovation

Kennametal manufactures a variety tungsten carbide powders by either its thermite process or by carburizing tungsten powders produced in its tungsten oxide reduction process. Kennametal’s powders conform to some of the highest purity and PSD specifications from a wide variety of markets including: aerospace, oil & gas, energy, earthworks, construction, metal cutting, & process industries.

In addition to our portfolio of tungsten carbide powders, Kennametal brings over 80 years of tungsten and tungsten carbide manufacturing & processing innovation dating back to when our founder, Philip M. McKenna, created the first tungsten-titanium carbide alloy for cutting tools and wear components. Our manufacturing and applications engineers take pride in carrying on Philip McKenna’s entrepreneurial spirit and delivering high performance material solutions to all our customers.

Macrocrystalline Tungsten Carbide Powders
