Tech Tip: Regrinding Coated Tools

Reconditioning of round tools can increase your profitability by using the tool in an environmentally friendly way until the end of the product life cycle.

The reconditioned tool performs as good as new and can bring savings of more than 50%.

Reconditioning of each tool is evaluated and performed individually based on wear. During reconditioning all tools go through several process steps that match new tool production to ensure the best possible performance of the reconditioned tool.

Solid Carbide drills will be reground at the point’s end and step length. Modular drill heads will be reground at the point’s end. Solid carbide endmills will be reground at the point’s end, rake angle, and periphery.

On average, solid carbide drills can be reconditioned 3-5 times, modular drills up to 2 times, and solid carbide endmills up to 3 times.

For more information on reconditioning of Solid Carbide Round tools visit our reconditioning services page.
